Not all of this work follows a break-in. Newbold's side streets are barely wider than a car with its mirrors out, and between the delivery vans, the contractor pickups and the skip lorries, glass gets taken off by contact as often as by anything else. Kerb-side vent windows and quarter lights are the usual casualties, along with mirror glass, and whoever did it is generally three streets away before anybody notices. Those small fixed panes are also the ones owners get told nobody stocks, which is rarely true - they are ordinary parts, usually at the lower end of the range.
What decides whether this is one visit or two is the part, so the VIN does the heavy lifting: tint, a heating element, an aerial printed into the pane or a factory option can separate two otherwise identical cars. Common door and quarter glass is here and goes in the same day; anything else is sourced, and we confirm it has landed before you set off rather than after. Because tempered glass leaves cubes rather than pieces, the door comes apart at the end of the job so the cavity can be cleared as well as the cabin - fragments left in a channel are what wear a window regulator out months down the line.

A car with a pane missing cannot quietly wait somewhere for a part to arrive, because there is nowhere quiet: it is on the street, it has to move for cleaning, and an open window on a block where everything is parked tight is an invitation. So the sequence here runs the other way round from most shops. You call, we identify the exact pane and say whether it is in stock or which day it lands, and only then do you move the car.
